Prunus munsoniana (Munson Plum)

Also known as Wild Goose Plum.

A small, deciduous tree or large shrub reaching 15–25 feet, Munson Plum is found across East and North-Central Texas in woodland edges, creek bottoms, and disturbed thickets. It spreads readily by root suckers, forming colonies that provide excellent wildlife cover and erosion control along slopes and riparian corridors. Moderately drought-tolerant once established, it performs well in clay and loam soils with good drainage.
