Also known as Indian Plantain, Prairie Indian Plantain.
Prairie Plantain features small white – green blooms and striking, thick, glossy leaves that mostly occur at the base of the plant. It prefers rich, moist soil in prairies, fields and open woods. Prairie Plantain makes a great addition to moist meadow or prairie plantings. It naturally occurs in southeast and east Texas to central Texas and the Edwards Plateau. Cherokees used it as a poultice for cuts, bruises, tumors and infections.
